I always book Riu Miami Plaza for my daycation! I do however wish they had a changing space or a gym with a shower. That’s the only thing that would make me look ah another place

Have done a couple of resort day passes at south beach and this had been the best one. Check in and out was seamless, the staff were all extremely friendly, pool and beach access were excellent and the stretch of ocean front the resort has is all white sand with clear waters and great beach chairs with umbrellas. Ate lunch at the alligator restaurant, food and drinks were delicious and not at outrageous south beach prices. Day pass price has also been the best priced one I’ve seen on south beach. Definitely highly recommend and will be going back next time I’m in Miami!

We thoroughly enjoyed our daycation with Hotel Riu Miami Plaza Miami Beach! Our card to use the beach gate did not work but we just enjoyed the pool which was wonderful and relaxing.

It was an amazing day! I found the daycation site late during my stay in Miami but it gave me one of my best days. My husband, baby and I had a great time lounging by the pool and swimming that we didn’t even bother going to the beach. It was a serene environment. The food and drinks by the pool were also very affordable and nice. Totally recommend Hotel Riu especially because the price is more affordable than other hotels on the same stretch of the beach.

Very good for a long layover in Miami ! A lot of kids in the pool but the beach set up is great. Staff is very friendly and caring. There’s a few restaurants around and you’re relatively close to everything.

Having the ability to have access to both pool side and beach side it incredible I was there from 10-5 on the beach with a lay beach chair and beach umbrella! All day. The attendance were great and the ocean was such a sight. Will definitely do it again

My husband and I decided to take a Daycation to disconnect from the everyday life of life. And we loved the experience at the Riu Plaza hotel. All the employees are very helpful and attentive. Food and drinks are highly recommended. We saw the solar eclipse on the beach together and we took incredible memories. Thank you

Everything from check-in to check-out was absolutely amazing. We needed a place to stay after our cruise and before our evening flight. It was a great way to extend our vacation a little.

The day pass was perfect. We had a late flight after our cruise arrival back to port. The drinks were reasonably priced and wonderful amenities!

Great hotel and pool area. Staff was fantastic and friendly. I highly recommend. My wife and I spent the day after our cruise before our flight home and it was perfect.

Our daycation was a perfect spot to relax in between itineraries with a place to store our luggage. Staff was attentive and nice.

This dacation location was amazing! The staff were wonderful and the service was amazing. If you have time to kill before your flight, this is the place to do it! This daycation is just on the other side of the boardwalk. There are so many shady spots beneath the palms to relax so you don't need to bake in the sun. They store your luggage in a locked room for the day. There are drinks and a full menu available and bathrooms are available behind the bar, no need to go back inside in your swim suit.

Great location, nice facility. Would had been nice if there were proper change facilities for staycation guests rather than the washroom. Otherwise great hotel.

This was a really enjoyable day. We arrived from a cruise and had a late flight out so this was a perfect way to spend our day in Miami. The only issue we had was the daycation was advertised as “all-inclusive” and it was not. We had access to the pool, towels, and beach, but the food and drinks were an extra charge. We assumed the $115 for the day cation would be the total, but we spent an additional $100 on drinks and lunch. Overall, it was a great experience, but should probably make it clear what customers are paying for when they purchase the all-inclusive package.

My husband and I booked this for Valentine's Day. We had a great time! The beach was nice, the pool was heated and felt great, and the food at the poolside bar was really tasty and reasonably priced. Checking in and out at the desk was a breeze. We would definitely do it again and highly recommend!

Wonderful service! Great pool and outdoor restaurant/bar. The check-in process was very smooth and the free luggage storage was super convenient. And decent prices. We had a great day.

The heated pool and beach access were great. The number of poolside chairs were limited so we needed to wait for some. There was only one changing area unless you were able to use a bathroom stall.

We totally enjoyed our day! Thank you! More chairs and possibly a second changing area would have been appreciated as we had 11 in our group.

Great location (on beach) access, and staff friendly. Check in was fast and hotel is nice. Everything we needed for a great day! Best to note, that most parking garages clearance is 6' 2". If you have a 1-ton truck, will need to catch an uber. The ground parking were all full.

Really nice and comfortable while we waited for a delayed flight

We used this after getting off a cruise ship during the day - we had a night-time flight home. Be sure to note there is NO changing room or shower available. Also, the valet service tried to get a commission by reserving one of their "kick back" overpriced car services to the airport, so plan reserve your own Uber or taxi to save yourself the money!

Staff was very courteous and made the experience enjoyable for me and my family. We enjoyed time at the pool and spent the a couple hours at the beach as well. The drinks were delicious and the waiters made sure we had everything we needed. Valet was quick and easy.

Did it for a day after our cruise because our flight was at night. It was easy to do, affordable and a great pool/beach. They also helped with holding our luggage as we spent the day soaking up the sun. We Would consider either doing it again or even booking a room with the hotel because of how nice it was.

The hotel was beautiful. We found chairs for half of our party which turned out okay since some were swimming most of the time.

It was a great way to relax and chill with everything you need right there. Beverages, food, chairs, towels, restrooms, showers, etc. The pool area is small but well maintained, the services is really good and the staff is always nice and willing to help you with anything you might need. It was a family enviorment

it’s was nice!!! i would definitely recommend but the only thing i had a problem with was how packed it was in the morning which was expected because it’s the summer… it was kinda hard to find a sit because it’s first come first served at the beach and buy the pool but as soon as afternoon came it was a little more seats available.

Booked this hotel for the day due to needing to waist time until my flight after a week long cruise. There were great accommodations, they held my luggage for me until it was time to depart for my flight and overall very relaxing. Attentive bar staff and hotel personnel . Will come again to stay after my future cruises.

We had a great afternoon at the pool and beach waiting for our evening flight. Only thing that would have made it better would have been showers to use before we had to head to the airport.

We had a wonderful experience at the Riu. Unfortunately, the weather wasn’t great. The restaurant staff was very accommodating when guests rushed inside to get out of the rain. We ordered some drinks and had an amazing caprese sandwich. Service was great all around. I would definitely return!

Everything very good. Only issue was with Head Valet - asked for a cab, and got a non cab non uber (unbeknownst to us) and got charged $80 to go to the airport. We should have asked the cost of fare upfront. Lesson learned.

The staff was so nice and helpful and the pool was gorgeous! It was a smooth check in and check out and we had a great time.

Place is amazing! Great atmosphere, clean facilities, not too crowded, direct beach access, free towels and pool access. Everyone super friendly! Food/drink service sometimes took a little long but that was the most minimal detail compared to how great everything else was. Went back next day again because we loved it so much! Would 100% return!

Check in was quick. can't remember front desk gentleman but he was so pleasant. Hotel was beautiful. Nice beach towels. There could have been more chairs and umbrellas on beach. we did not arrive till almost 11 and we got the last 2 chairs on the beach. We moved over to the "beach" area under palm trees by pool. Very nice. We did have 2 drinks each from the bar. There were waiters around pool ( and you could order food and drink at the beach) I had probably the best mojito I have ever had!!! Yum!! I would absolutely do daycation again. I had looked into it before to use on a cruise. I will spread the word on this service. Such a great option to do between cruise and check in at airport hotel.

Overall it was a great experience. The kids had a blast. Cons: there was a hefty service fee that the waiter said was not their tip..so on top of their tip bill was 30% over listed price. Def was not expecting that. The food also took forever to arrive…over an hour.

Great experience

everythin was good, except the check in. The receptionist was notable totell us where to store our luggage, and we had to "chase" someone to fix it, we ended up havingthe luggage by the sunbed at the pool. She did not give us any info about the wifi password, and neither any info about where the gym was.

The hotel was beautiful and clean, the pool was great and there were plenty of chairs. The beach with chairs and umbrellas available was even better. The staff treated us very well and there was a nice cafe for lunch out by the pool.

My kids and I enjoyed all day at this beautiful place. Everything Is amazing, clean and all staff are excellent

We had a great "Daycation" at Hotel Riu. Check in/out were easy. They held our luggage, and we always could access the luggage if needed. Only one towel per person allowed. The pool was great with enough shaded areas to stay out of the sun. The beach was nice too, although not a really great "beach" (not the hotel's fault). We walked about 2 miles on the beach. There's a nice walkway between the hotel and beach to walk and ride bikes. The hotel next door offered nicer cushioned chairs, but the Hotel Riu's chairs and umbrellas were fine. We didn't eat at the hotel -- we walked up to 40th to meet new friends from our cruise at Piola's for delicious pizza, salad and Tiramisu. No real changing area with a shower (I may have thought there was one when we booked but could be mistaken). We changed in the lobby bathrooms.

The food was amazing, the pool area was ok. The pool was dirty to be honest (hair plastic dirt)- which might have been because it was so crowded (busy day). Lots of children playing around. Overall nice but not extraordinary.

Overall it was nice and clean. The food was def mediocre at best. We ordered calamari and nachos. The calamari came out late and they brought my husband a free beer to “make up for it” but did not offer me anything. The nachos were cold, the cheese was the kind of cheese you’d find on a order of nachos from an amusement park. We forgot to pack a “wet bag” for our flight home having just come off a cruise and waiting for our 8p flight out of Miami. I asked five different staff for just a plastic trash bag or a laundry bag from the house keepers cart and everyone said they didn’t have any (not sure how they empty trash…) this made us have to spend less time in the water than we wanted bc we needed time for our suits to dry out prior to packing them into our bags as not to soak what was already packed. Seemed silly to me that this one request couldn’t be met especially when we paid what we did for the day. Overall a nice stay but not sure I’d go out of my way to visit again .

It was great. From the poolside, to the beach, to the bar everything was top notch. So worth the money. It was way better than sitting at the airport waiting on our flight all day.

We came off our cruise ship in the morning and we where nicely welcomed by friendly staff! We enjoyed this very nice day at the beach and around the pool before taking our flight back to Montreal in the evening! Perfect day to end our amazing week :-)

Nice facility; a little wear and tear on the building and some plumbing was leaking near the pool but overall a nice location and experience for our family.

I loved the concept of the app! I wish the hotel had a place to shower after being on the beach all day

I spent the day on the beach, which is exactly what I wanted, but the amenities were fairly limited. It was up to you to find an empty chair, nobody was helping with that process, unlike other resorts i went to. You are given one towel card when you check in, so you can't get more than one towel. I didn't even realize you could order drinks (and maybe food) on the beach until I saw someone bringing drinks at the end of the day to another guest. The pool seemed small and hard to find a chair from what I could tell, although I didn't look to sit by the pool. The food wasn't great based on what I ate, but drinks were ok. They also hold your ID until you check out - this was the only resort I found doing this. I personally didn't think my experience was worth the money paid for the day.

It was such a lovely day, the pool was beautiful, with quick access to an even more beautiful beach. With service for drinks and food right at you free beach lounge chair and umbrella. Towels were very soft and easy to acquire. Will definitely be doing this again.

The food was delicious but a bit pricey. The only complaint I have is lack of access to decent water. Small cups were offered but not at a rate to keep my family hydrated. I wish we could have purchased larger water bottles or had a refill station.

We had a fabulous time! Servers were constantly walking around and food and drink orders were quick. Extra friendly staff when checking in and the pool side attendant was on the ball the entire time.

We had an 8 hour wait for our flight back home after getting off a cruise. 20 minute ride from the port to the hotel. Check-in was quick and easy. They stored our luggage which was very convenient. We changed into our beach wear in the lobby restroom, grabbed some towels and headed to the beach! It was beautiful and relaxing! We even spent some time at the pool, had lunch and a yummy cocktail! We changed, checked out, and headed for the airport. It was a very nice morning and afternoon! Much better choice than sitting at the crazy airport with your face masked!!

Hotel Riu was the perfect spot for a daycation! I’m a Miami native, but I rarely get to the beach so we booked a daycation when I had guests in town, and we had a wonderful time. We arrived around noon and there were still chairs at the beach, but not many by the pool. After an hour or so, the pool area cleared out and we were able to hang out by the pool as well. The hot was beautiful and service was great—totally worth the price for a great beach and pool day! We will be back!

There are many terrific things about our day action beginning with the warm welcome we received from the valet then in to the check in desk, out to the towel bar and at the drinks bar… drinks were yummy and VERY affordable.. pool and beach access second to none….me and my family will return often. It felt like a mini vacation!

Wasn’t too sure about using this app but it was legit and worked great. Checked in at front desk in a few minutes. Have to leave ID at front desk. We opted to hang out at the beach. We got there around 11 and there were still chairs but it quickly filled up. I wish the beach servers would come around for service. We had to get up a lot of wave them over for drinks or food. It’s a short walk back over to pool area to access rest rooms. Pool area was hopping. Overall good experience and would recommend.

Basic amenities (medium sized pool, one restaurant/bar) but they do the job. No servers going around to chairs but servers at bar were great. Location excellent and check-in and luggage storage were a breeze.

This was our first time at this hotel, we purchased the day pass and we loved it, we mainly spent the day at the beach which was great, we also went for lunch at the Alligator Bar by the pool, it had a good selection of food and drinks and.................. prices were good ! So we will for sure come back again :-)

It was great! The staff was extremely helpful and friendly and the amenities were awesome. We had rain but we still had a blast. Prices on refreshments were steep though.

The facilities are pretty nice, but there is no bar service before noon and they don't even have bottles of water for guests at the beach. The music at the pool was a little loud for my taste, but that seems to be the vibe guests are looking for in South Beach.

The stay was amazing. I recommend getting there as early as possible so you can get the umbrella closest to the water! It's first come first serve! I also recommend the chicken tenders and fries + your favorite beach drink.

Had a good time overall. We stayed by the beach the whole time. Would have liked to spend more time by the Pool area, but it was packed and not really super nice. The service was good. The food and drinks were good and not expensive.
